In 1950 my grandfather Afro, together with my grandmother Mafalda and my father Vitaliano, opened the butcher’s shop in via Puccini in Salsomaggiore. Later they moved to the current store, in via Loschi – in the center of the town. And for this central position, they had to struggle a lot, since the belle epoque of then considered a butcher as an activity not suitable for a central street of the country.
